Tell Tall Tales Graphic Novel – Uncovering Leicester’s Folklore

We are thrilled to introduce Tell Tall Tales, a heritage graphic novel that uncovers and celebrates the rich tapestry of Leicester’s folklore. This long-awaited project was born from a passion to share the city and county’s diverse stories with a new generation of children and young people, ensuring these tales are preserved and cherished for years to come.

Brimming with engaging visuals and compelling narratives, this graphic novel blends history, culture, and heritage in a way that is both accessible and inspiring. From the haunting legend of Black Annis to the enchanting tale of The Nine O’Clock Horses, these stories leap off the page. What makes this project truly special is its inclusion of tales from cultures around the globe, now interwoven into Leicester’s vibrant community fabric.

This project has been brought to life through the creativity and dedication of our talented writers, illustrators, and the invaluable support of De Montfort University.

We dedicate this graphic novel to the children and young people of Leicester and Leicestershire, and to the extraordinary Pedestrian team, whose enthusiasm and commitment made this dream a reality.
