We completed “Our Big Build”, a transformative capital fundraising campaign that created a permanent, accessible, safe and creative space for young people.

Pedestrian have done

somethingreally big

We are proud to have opened the doors to our thriving arts hub for young people and creatives. This inclusive, purpose-built space provides a safe environment where young people can unleash their creative potential, build confidence, and develop essential life skills for the future.

Our Big Build campaign made this vibrant creative hub possible, creating a permanent home where children and young people can explore music, visual arts, digital media and more. Today, the hub hosts educational sessions, outreach programmes, mentorship opportunities and career development pathways, empowering individuals to turn their passion for the arts into meaningful opportunities.

OUR BIG BUILD

Together, We Built Something Special

Our Big Build became much more than a fundraising campaign – it became a city-wide movement. Over the course of a year, supporters, businesses, artists, schools and community groups came together to help create a permanent home for Pedestrian’s young people.

From Sip & Paint evenings, street art workshops and intimate Sofar Sounds performances to cake sales, charity challenges and community events, every fundraiser brought people together in support of our vision. Dedicated supporters ran the Leicester Half Marathon, cyclists pedalled from Pedestrian’s original Northampton home to our new space and local media, including East Midlands Today and BBC Radio Leicester, helped share our story across the city.

Together, this incredible effort helped raise the funds to transform a former bank at 29 Horsefair Street into a vibrant creative hub. Today, the space will be home to youth-led exhibitions, recording studios, flexible creative spaces and life-changing opportunities where young people can explore music, visual arts, digital media and much more.

“Our Big Build showed what is possible when a community comes together with a shared purpose. Every event, every fundraiser, every donation, and every volunteer played a part in creating a space where young people can feel they belong, discover their creativity, and build brighter futures. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this vision a reality.”
