We are extremely proud to share that our nominated tutor Naji Richards won The Creative Leader Award at the Be Mighty Be Creative Award run by The Mighty Creatives. He beat competition from finalists across the East Midlands, the award recognises an outstanding individual in a leadership role who is making an impact in championing and promoting creative and cultural learning for children and young people.

Naji is a much loved and recognised community figure within the Leicester music scene working for many local arts organisations. He has worked for Pedestrian for over 20 years and continues to lead on our key projects including Perfect Score, Boost Box and Youth Voice.

Humbled to be nominated, Naji was leading a music session for us when he found out he was the winner said “I never win anything! You don’t do it for awards, you just do what you do” and with that Naji got on with doing what he does best – inspiring young people to do great things and fulfil their potential. This was greeted with gestures of praise and congratulations by young people and fellow colleagues.

Everyone is agreed that this was a well-deserved, long overdue accolade.

From all of the Pedestrian family- Congratulations Naji!!

A special mention also goes out to fellow Pedestrian tutor Jenny Hibberd who won The Creative Voice Award recognising an outstanding creative ambassador championing and promoting creativity in the region. Huge congrats to you too Jenny.
