Samantha Whelan
Sam is Chair of our Advisory Committee and also an employee of Pedestrian. She is currently working to establish an invigorated Advisory Commitee to provide the vital link between the Board of Directors and our Stakeholders."My passion for radio presenting and production began when I started spending far too much time in the student union's media centre and not nearly enough in the library throughout my 3years reading Communication and Media Studies at uni. My degree appealed to my analytical perspective on the effects of media on society, and my initial engagement with Pedestrian and their approach in my third year of uni complimented this beautifully.
My involvement with Pedestrian began as a radio tutor and evolved from the first project I worked on and I am now taking on the project management of the radio initiative. Alongside this I am also based in the Pedestrian office developing projects for the range of art forms we offer.
Outside of Pedestrian I am a radio presenter for a local community radio station and also enjoy film making, which is an area I am currently very keen to develop my skills in."
Samantha is based in Leicester
