Talent Match Leicestershire

As a Talent Match partner we will be hosting a range of activities at our Head Quarters in the centre of Leicester over the next four years with 8 x 6month blocks of activity.

Designed by young people for young people, the focus is to engage 18-24 year olds living in Braunstone Park & Rowley Fields, Beaumont Leys, Spinney Hills and New Parks in Leicestershire, who have been out of employment, education or training for a year or more. They will discover their own pathways to employment and their own progression routes based around their own enterprises whilst simultaneously gaining specific creative and making skills.

Our dynamic approach has three strands:

Creative Workshops :: 3 hours a week (Friday PM)

Creative workshops will give young people specific practical skills (how to make and create things for themselves such as fashion/textile, crafts, and jewellery items) which can be sold on, taught to others, or turned into a creative enterprise. Our past projects have seen soap making, fashion accessories (eg screen-printed bags, gloves), and craft items.

The Enterprise Club :: 3 hours a week (Thursday PM)

The Enterprise Club will engage young people that have gained practical skills they can evolve into a business. The sessions will run alongside the creative workshops. Sessions will develop a network of individuals with similar goals and interests enabling young people to create a support network which is local and bespoke to their needs.

Mentoring :: Partnered with The Enterprise Club (10 hours one-to-one tuition)

Mentoring will allow personal reflection, planning, and growth on an individual basis. Young people are eligible for 10 hours one-to-one mentoring and support to set up an enterprise - this time will be spent at the young person's pace and convenience in community venues locally. Specific dates and times the hours will be used will be decided between the young person and the mentor to enable full accessibility and participation.
