Pedestrian Planters Young Growers Open Evening!
Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 2:41PM Tonight at the LCB Depot Gallery, Pedestrian Planters shall be having their very own open evening! The event shall display all of the community group’s hard work from the past couple of months, displaying their very own hand made plant boxes which are all uniquely decorated by each individual group.
The project has helped ‘young growers’ to develop skills as well as empowering communities to grow food in domestic urban spaces. Hopefully the exhibition itself will continue to change throughout the five-week display period as the seeds themselves grow into their hand built planters and start to display some lovely edible veg.
As well as displaying all of the hand built planters, there shall also be a series of artists displaying their different artwork as a backdrop for the planters, with Helen Neave exhibiting her botanical drawings and paintings in the Courtyard Gallery and Kate Hubbard’s nature projections being shown in the LCB café! Helen Neave shall also be at the event this evening to answer any questions you may have about her artwork.
As if that wasn’t enough to entice you down, there shall also be some free drinks and nibbles available so make sure to pop down early.
The event will take place this evening from 6pm – 8pm in the LCB Courtyard Gallery, we hope to see you soon! Make sure to look out for other events related to this exhibition and the young growers coming up soon throughout the duration of August and early September.
