Pedestrian

Norfolk and Suffolk

Pedestrian’s latest expansion into a new region has seen activities extend into Norfolk and Suffolk. Pedestrian has appointed two regional co-ordinators in the area; Bradley Smith and Yasha Malekzad. Their previous experience of co-ordinating and teaching workshops in Leicester, has inspired them to develop opportunities in their home region.

Brad & Yasha are now recruiting and developing artists, innovating, inspiring and educating around the local area. Workshops will be delivered in a variety of disciplines including; music production, graffiti, street dance, creative writing and poetry, video production, graphic design, turntablism and any other art form for which provision is required. A few words from our regional co-ordinators…

Bradley Smith

“I have always been very interested in urban art forms, particularly turntablism. When growing up in North Suffolk, I had never heard of any turntablism tuition going on in the area, but from a young age - although I found it difficult - I managed to teach myself. Working with Pedestrian in the Midlands has given me the experience and ability to offer something to my home region that otherwise not be accessible.”

Yasha Malekzad
“Being a Suffolk native, I always knew there was a lot of talent around the local area, but there were little or no outlets for it. Therefore I have set myself the task to create those opportunities. Offering people from all age groups and backgrounds a chance to experience new art forms and to develop their skills as well as themselves as individuals. Bradley and myself really believe in what we are doing and we aim to pass this energy onto every person we reach.”
