Pedestrian

Derbyshire

Regional Co-ordinator - Owain Wilson mentors

“I took over as Derbyshire Regional Coordinator in 2006. This is a new region of development for Pedestrian with the inclusion of Nottingham. Since March have been working to raise profile. We carried out a series of workshops sessions one on one with youth offenders in the Nottingham area through Nottingham Youth Offending Team, successful in reducing their offending frequency.

We recently delivered music activities for PAYP Connexions Derbyshire within the city of Derby, providing Turntablism and MC/production workshops.

We plan to hold an Industry Day in Derby to encourage local educators and public sector developers (e.g. the YOT and Connexions) to see the range of activities we have on offer and thus work more closely with us in the future.”

Sir John Moore Foundation

Pedestrian is teaming up with the Sir John Moore Foundation in Appleby Magna to deliver turntbalism workshops to local young people. The sessions will take place in June and will hopefully be the first of many!

Arts Award

Pedestrian has now got 3 fully qualified arts award trainers at the bronze and silver level in Leicester, Derby and Lincoln. They are currently working at Da Vinci college in Derby.

Nottingham YOT

We have entered into a longer term relationship with Nottingham Youth Offending Team, dealing with both anti-social behavioural order clients and one on one, running accredited courses for both the Arts Award and OCN courses.
