Moneywise Plus Employability Routeway


Delivery dates: Jan 2017 – Dec 2019

Commissioner: Reaching People, Moneywise Plus, Building Better Opportunities (BBO)

Target cohort: Anyone not working - over 16 years old, eligible to reside in the UK, must not be on a zero hours contract

Partners: Reaching People (project lead organisation), Action Homeless, b-inspired, The Bridge, Community Advice & Law Service, E2, Home-Start Horizons, Leicester City Council, Leicester College, Leicestershire County Council, PA Housing, The Y Leicester.

Key objective: Moneywise Plus provides information, advice and training to help 1,400 unemployed people across Leicester and Leicestershire increase their financial, digital and volunteering skills.  The Volunteer Routeway provides further guidance and training to help individuals to identify and apply for appropriate volunteer opportunities, which in turn may improve skills, knowledge and confidence aiding return to employment or education.

Summary: Participants should attend a 3-hour session each week for 6 weeks.  Course content includes Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) analysis, goal setting, identifying key attributes and skills needed to achieve intended goals, mapping interests, current skills and experience; and planning how to achieve stages needed to reach overall goals. A mix of group and one-to-one activity builds core leadership skills of empathy, communication, decision-making, and confidence. Participants will identify, apply for and undertake volunteering opportunities.

Talent Match


Delivery dates: 2015 – 2018

Commissioner: The Big Lottery Fund

Target cohort: 18-24 year olds who are Not in Education Employment or Training (NEET)

Partners: B-working, Leicester Community Music Project (LCMP), Highfields Centre, Seed Creativity, The Prince's Trust

Key objective:  Talent Match is a Big Lottery Fund investment project to help long-term unemployed young people to gain employment across England. Through a partnership of local organisations a creative work-ready programme is offered to support those young people into work.

Summary: We are Leicester’s priority one delivery partner and we have the great privilege of facilitating the Talent Match Team who comprise the young executives. We help them plan and execute events as well as developing their skills and self-belief.
